| We have been raising bucking stock for over 12 years now. Our foundation blood lines are Original Wyche cows, CP47, Playboy, -46 Sharp Dressed Man, Katy Did, M17, just to name a few. We focus on quality out crosses that buck! I buck everything. If it don't buck it goes to the sale barn. We have a very strict culling process and over the years by doing this we have raised our percentages of buckers dramatically. I owe most of all of my success to one bull that most have never heard of, but should have some of his calves on your place! 342 Sargent Peppers, an own son of 07 Superfly, out of a CP47 daughter. I contribute my success with my calves bucking from Sargent Peppers Genetics!. It all started out when I was trying to find a new herd sire. I wanted something plummer, athletic and had a heart the size of Texas. I called a friend who had purchased a set of bull calves directly from Larry Wyche's herd. He had a bunch of great ones out of that set, but most were out of my price range at the time. My friend said he had one that he would make me a great deal on because he didn't know if he was going to live or die. The first time they bucked them, this bull in particular was outstanding destine to be a superstar, but unfortunately he was very wild and broke his jaw in the chutes so bad that it was displaced. This would have killed most bulls, simply by giving up. But not Sarge he was too mean to die. I bought him and nursed him back to health. Once I got him healthy he was bucked and I wasn't disappointed in my decision, however, he was still way too hot and never would settle in the chutes, so I used him as a sire. I would dare to make the statement that we have never had to send one of his calves yet to the sale barn, everyone would at least make a hauling bull. From there we have built upon the foundation started by embryo transfer and AI. More to come. |
